I created this painting after our recent trip to Amsterdam where we went to these beautiful gardens, where there were a wide variety of tulips and other flowers.  I loved the colours and the way they were put together.

  • The first one is #dizzy, which is looking down and feeling that the ground you are walking on is going round and round.
  • The second one is #metamorphosis, which is the butterfly coming out of the cocoon it is in.  This is how God transforms us when we meditate on his word and in prayer.  We become brighter and more beautiful.
  •  The third one is #ghost, which is based on a particular saga and a little girl is sleeping in a room where a ghost is.

Sunday 14th June
There were ten of us artists on the Showcase - musicians, poets, visual artists, film makers, sculptors and singers.  I was interviewed by Andy Kumar, also an artist and actor, and showed a series of videos - one was me presenting myself as an artist, then my time lapse of me painting Marsaxlokk which in Malta.  Finally showing the final piece.  This was all done on Zoom because of the Lockdown. Each piece was in light of what each artist was doing in Lockdown.

First out was Andy B who performed a cover from a Pink Floyd album, one of my favourite bands.  Then Juanita who read out one of her books, which was highlighting Uganda and and was well performed as well.  After my performance there was Katie Bonham, a film maker and writer who made a film of actors performing from Romeo and Juliet, from Shakespeare.  However, they did their own take on it.  Leonie Adams who performed as a quartet, very cleverly done, playing her cello.  Pete Cox came on performing one of his poems - he normally performs at the Innerverse at the Herschel Arms but due to pubs being closed, he has been working from home and they meet regularly online via zoom.  Fahima Mahmood showed a beautiful garden she had made out of recycled materials in a basket and she performed on film and well presented.  There was some amazing photography from Sara Henry and very well filmed.  Next there was a lady named Van Bui who has only been in the country 4 months from Vietnam.  She is a documentary film maker and finally, Siobhan White who sang a song from The Wiz.

It was an amazing evening with lots of content and I would like to thank all from Resource Productions who made it all possible.

I started a Created to Thrive Art Mentoring Course through Matt Tommey and then started the Created to Thrive Experience Course. Exciting things are ahead, so watch this space! I thought I would share some of the work I have been doing. I was listening to a Christian song: "You Can Have It All Lord, Every Part of My World" and then the next line is "Take this Life and Breathe on the Heart that is Now Yours".

So I felt prompted to go to my Encaustic Art Set.  What does encaustic art mean?  It is basically painting with an iron using flat crayons. I have created a set of hearts.  The first one is a depicts my restless heart and the second, a strong tree.
